So pregnancy and motherhood didn't go as expected. Be it pregnancy loss, depression throughout pregnancy, or the sadness that you feel now while caring for your newborn it just doesn't feel right. You don't feel right. In your mind you understand that pregnancy loss and postpartum depression happen because you've seen it on the news, movies, etc... But in your heart you can't understand how it happened to you. You thought that you would "be like everyone else" and are now asking yourself "what's wrong with me?". You're crying when you're not supposed to, it's hard to find joy in this journey, and you feel alone. When you look in the mirror or at recent photographs of yourself you don't recognize the person you see.

To be honest, many women go through this but few talk about it so you end up feeling like the odd one out. I am here to help you. My goal is to support you as you go through this journey. I will be at your side as you make sense of your journey, understand and manage your feelings, and reconnect with the ones you love. My approach is gentle and kind. Our talks will feel like a conversation with an old friend rather than a stuffy doctor's appointment. My job isn't to judge you or criticize you or to make you feel less than. My job is to be at your side and help you navigate this difficult chapter in your life.

I use a non judgemental and collaborative approach in my therapy with clients. I pull from different theoretical orientations including cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and evidence-based approaches in order to customize a plan that is specific to your current life and lifestyle needs. We then walk through our plan together, having you try out different techniques, and figuring out together what works best for you. Along the way, I ask for feedback so as to make sure that you feel supported, safe, and to ensure that we are moving in the right direction.
